CBSE 10th Mark Sheet: Students report error in DOB

CBSE 10th Mark Sheet: Students report error in DOB&nbsp

Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE has released the CBSE Class 10 Result 2020 yesterday – July 15, 2020. But in its hurry to declare the result, the board seems to have committed a mistake, albeit a blunder in one of the most important entries – the Date of Birth! Many students have now reported that as per the CBSE – they are born in 2020 and some are even scheduled to be born on December 1, 2020!

Yes. The Date of Birth or DOB of the students is showing the year 2020! Almost all the students are reporting the erroneous date of birth. Many students are reporting correct month and date but wrong year. Some are even reporting wrong dates and months.

Along with the results, the CBSE 10th Result 2020 Mark Sheet has also been uploaded on the DigiLocker. Interestingly, Class 10 Mark Sheet is also a bonafide document for date of birth. For many, it is the equivalent of a birth certificate – making the DOB the most important aspect of the CBSE Class 10 Mark Sheet. Further, CBSE has often reiterated that the DOB in the mark sheet would not be changed once published.

The Admit Cards are not showing the error. This error, however, is on the digital mark sheets downloaded from Digilocker as well as on the cbseresults.nic.in scorecards. Also Read | CBSE 10th Toppers 2020: Meet the students who have scored 99% and above in CBSE Class 10 Board Exams

What to do next?

All CBSE Class 10 students are urged to check for the error and report it to CBSE. At this point it seems to be a technical glitch and in all probability the board would recall the mark sheets and make the correction. Perhaps the system picked the wrong YY to display from the YYYY mentioned in the examination forms. If it is a mass error, CBSE would recall the mark sheets and get them corrected for all. In case it is not for all and an error in select few, then students must reach out to the board and report the error to get the mark sheet rectified.

On a lighter note, Students may keep a copy of the same saved for some nice coffee time stories about 2020 and how they had passed the high school examinations before they were even born!
