Bhubaneswar: The Odisha police have arrested one other Nigerian resident and his spouse from New Delhi for allegedly duping Rs 30 lakh from a Balasore man via honey-trapping, stated an official.
The accused recognized as Emmanuel Nnamani and his spouse T. Suchim Tikhir. Nnamani is a Nigeria resident whereas his spouse belongs to Nagaland, stated Amresh Kumar Panigrahi, extra SP, Balasore.
Earlier, Samson Emeke Alika was arrested on this case registered at cyber and financial offence police station, Balasore.
A person had lodged a grievance earlier than the cyber police in April alleging that someday a woman got here in touch with him via Facebook by introducing himself as a younger girl from London.
Later, they exchanged texts via WhatsApp. Then the woman instructed the sufferer that she had despatched expensive reward gadgets together with gold biscuits, a Rolex watch and an iPhone for him.
Later, the woman Suchim Tikhir, claiming himself as a customs officer from New Delhi, known as the sufferer and requested him to provide him customized expenses to obtain the presents despatched by his buddy from London, stated Panigrahi.
Accordingly, the sufferer stored on spending lakhs of rupees to obtain the presents. He has transferred round Rs 30 lakh however didn’t get the presents.
The police stated they’ve seized two laptops, one Hyundai i20 automobile, one Dangal, two invalid passports, one SBI passbook, two gold chains and 7 cell phones from their possession.
The three individuals labored as a group to cheat the sufferer from Balasore district. Further investigating into the case is on to nab different folks concerned within the case, he added.
