Palakkad: In a stunning incident, a 24-year-old DYFI chief was strangled to dying by a youth at Konnallur close to Chittilancheri in Palakkad, on Wednesday. The deceased has been recognized as Soorya Priya (24). Police arrested Sujeesh, 27, a Cheekode native over the homicide prices. Reportedly, Sujeesh surrendered earlier than the police after murdering Soorya.

The incident occurred round 11 am on Wednesday. Police mentioned that Soorya Priya and Sujeesh had been in a relationship. However, it’s unclear what led to the homicide. Police mentioned Sujeesh, who had confessed to the crime, killed Surya Priya whereas she was alone at her dwelling.

Surya Priya, who was a member of the group improvement society (CDS) unit on the Melarkodu Panchayath, was the Secretary of the Kothanallore unit of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the youth wing of the CPM. She was additionally a member of DYFI’s Chittilancherry regional committee.
