A Moscow courtroom on Thursday fined the Wikimedia Foundation, proprietor of the web encyclopaedia Wikipedia, 2 million roubles ($24,525) for failing to take away what the courtroom termed “fake information” about Russia’s navy marketing campaign in Ukraine, Interfax reported.

The Wikimedia Foundation has been hit with a string of fines as Moscow pursues a drive to crack down on impartial sources of knowledge. Wikimedia has beforehand stated info that Russian authorities have complained about was nicely sourced and according to Wikipedia requirements.
