EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – The Eau Claire City-County Health Department gave their scheduled Monday COVID-19 update. Here is a recap:
11,570 negative test results (an increase of 451 since Friday)
402 positive test results (increase of 31 since Friday)
322 recovered
There was the counties second death over the weekend. It was an individual under the age of 50 with underlying health conditions.
The county jail did conduct 37 tests, there are 7 positive results, with 6 cases recovered.
They are in contact with the school district as they continue their plans for re-opening this fall.
Face masks and maintaining 6-feet of social distance are two clear things that can help slow the spread of the disease.

-Not aware of any connection.

-It was a female, hospitalized and she was under-50-years of age.
What are some of the mental health implications of the pandemic in winter?
-Often COVID-19 amplifies mental health conditions, and you would see that in somebody who has “seasonal affective disorder.” The isolation is worse than normal during this time and they would need a plan to combat that.
