On the event of World Suicide Prevention Day, the PGIMER hosted a psychological well being consciousness walkathon. This occasion was organised by the Association of Resident Doctors in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry, PGIMER, right here as we speak.
The occasion garnered an awesome response with lively participation from residents, college, nursing college students, workers and their relations, totalling 400 people, which led to its
big success.
Commencing at 6 am, the contributors gathered on the Kairon block, PGIMER, and was flagged off by Prof Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER. The walkathon spanned roughly 5 km, culminating on the Sukhna Lake. At the lake, the contributors have been handled to refreshments and given certificates, whereas a skit was later carried out by NINE college students. It emphasised varied elements contributing to suicide and its prevention.
Later, the PGIMER director addressed the gathering, highlighting the paramount significance of psychological well being.
He underlined the function of shifting societal values in inflicting stress and despair and underscored the importance of neighborhood efforts in suicide prevention.
He was joined by Prof Vipin Kaushal, Medical Superintendent; Kumar Gaurav Dhawan, Deputy Director Administration, Prof D Basu, head, Psychiatry Department, together with many different college members.
