About 30,000 kilos of dinosaur-shaped frozen rooster nuggets are being recalled after shoppers reported discovering metallic items within the product, U.S. meals security officers mentioned.
The merchandise topic to the recall are 29-ounce plastic packages of the Tyson Foods’ “fully cooked Fun Nuggets breaded shaped chicken patties.”
“A limited number of consumers have reported they found small, pliable metal pieces in the product,” Tyson mentioned in a news release in regards to the voluntary recall issued Saturday.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service confirmed on Saturday that it was notified by the corporate after discovering the issue.
One minor oral damage after the consumption of the product was reported, the USDA mentioned. The company has acquired no different studies of damage or sickness.
The USDA is advising consumers to throw away or return the frozen rooster patties merchandise that have been produced on Sept. 5, 2023 with a “best if used by” date of Sept. 4, 2024.
The affected lot codes are 2483BRV0207, 2483BRV0208, 2483BRV0209 and 2483BRV0210, and carry institution quantity P-7211 on the again of the packages.
The product was shipped to distributors in Alabama, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin for additional distribution to the retail stage, the USDA mentioned.
In 2019, Tyson recalled greater than 36,000 kilos of rooster nuggets due to potential rubber contamination. Rubber particles had made their method into the rooster after a bit of kit used to provide nuggets had damaged off, the corporate told The New York Times.
Tyson also recalled greater than 75,000 kilos of frozen rooster nuggets in 2014 after shoppers complained that they discovered small items of plastic of their meals.
