Officials of the US Embassy in India celebrated Diwali with US ambassador to India Eric Garcetti with festive lights, sweets, and rangoli.
Taking to X (previously often called Twitter), Garcetti wrote, “Delighted to celebrate #Diwali with dance, food and music with my colleagues for the first time here in India! At this auspicious time, may the festival of light bring you happiness and prosperity in the new year! शुभ दीपावली!”
He additionally shared a video by which officers of the US embassy had been seen shaking a leg whereas songs performed within the background.
A video by which Garcetti was seen dancing to the track ‘Chhaiya Chhaiya’ was doing the rounds on social media on Friday. Wearing a blue kurta and sun shades, he grooved to the steps because the viewers cheered.
However, plainly the US embassy in India started its preparations for Diwali very early. In a video posted by the embassy final month, a gaggle of American girls wearing vibrant Indian apparel had been seen grooving to the favored Bollywood track Dilbar from the film Satyamev Jayate.
