Last decade hottest on file, says World Meteorological Organisation

Rising sea ranges put coastal communities at better threat of flooding from the ocean (Gareth Fuller/PA)

The earlier decade has been the most well liked on file with polar and mountain ice melting and the ocean ranges rising sooner than within the twentieth century, the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) has stated.

Glaciers have thinned by an “unprecedented” one metre per yr whereas the Antarctic continental ice sheet misplaced practically 75% extra ice between 2011-2020 than it did between 2001-2010.
