DHAKA, Bangladesh — A fireplace at a six-story shopping center within the Bangladeshi capital in a single day killed not less than 43 individuals and injured dozens of others, with a number of individuals escaping to the constructing’s roof, officers stated Friday.

“Overnight many families waited here for their loved ones. It’s a heartbreaking scene as they desperately looked for their family members who died in the tragedy,” Mia stated.
