A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Indian Army was kidnapped from his residence in Manipur’s Thoubal district on Friday, PTI reported, citing officers.

The JCO, recognized as Konsam Kheda Singh, was on go away when some folks barged into his residence in Charangpat Mamang Leikai village at round 9 am and took him in a car.

Officials mentioned that whereas the reason for the kidnapping isn’t identified, preliminary studies recommend that the case seems to be of extortion as Singh’s household had obtained such threats previously.

A coordinated search operation has been launched by all safety companies to rescue the JCO, in keeping with PTI. All automobiles plying on National Highway 102 are being checked.
