DULUTH, MN — With the possibility of classes going online, some kids lack access to necessary technology.

That’s why Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union hosted Tech Drive Tuesday along with Minnesota Computers for Schools.

People donated their unwanted computers, phones, and keyboards to help equip students with proper distance learning gear.

Amanda Bruggman, branch manager at Affinity Plus’ Duluth location, explained the importance of gathering supplies for students.

“With distance learning, it has obviously become more evident that there is a gap in that accessibility because of the technology that people don’t necessarily have access to in their home,” Bruggman said. “So, making sure that we can get that in the hands of students is really important.”

In addition to accepting technology donations, the credit union is also matching monetary donations up to $25,000.
