The party vibe in Las Vegas certainly toned down during the coronavirus pandemic, with nightclubs remaining closed, pool parties converting to tamer pool lounges for adults only, and bars that don’t serve food forced to close. Still, some restaurant owners want to keep the party going with tweaks to the experience that still feel like a celebration.
Lavo Italian Restaurant at the Palazzo was always known for its weekend party brunch, and with all restaurants limited to 50 percent capacity, with mask mandates statewide when customers are walking to and from their tables, the restaurant came up with a new way to party. On Sunday, Lavo launches Dolce, a supper club experience starting at 9:30 p.m. The restaurant features live entertainment and a DJ every Sunday. The menu includes the restaurant’s signature one-pound meatball, along with seafood, pasta, and steaks, while diners watch performances unfold.
As the night progresses, interactive desserts along decanter and bottle service emerge to extend the evening. The new Tartufo Fantasia, a Neapolitan gelato cake, joins the menu with Sicilian pistachios and a popping candy chocolate shell, unveiled by poured flaming hot syrup that exposes the dessert inside. This dessert can be ordered on its own or combined into a full sweets tasting menu and even paired with Champagne and spirits.
