The Cadillac Lyriq heralds an all-electric future for the brand, with a host of cutting-edge technology and innovations driving the automaker in an exciting new direction. Naturally, Cadillac hopes to complement all that tech with sumptuous luxury every step of the way, offering a product that can “awaken your senses,” as seen in the following brief video.

Offered as part of Cadillac’s Verse video series, the video clocks in at a little over two minutes, and highlights several of the Cadillac Lyriq’s impressive features.

These include a massive 33-inch LED display, which will dominate the dash, stretching from left to right and providing not only the informational readouts for the driver, but also a central hub for the infotainment system. Featuring LED technology (as opposed to OLED technology like the display in the 2021 Cadillac Escalade), the Lyriq’s screen will have the highest pixel density available in the automotive industry today.

The Cadillac Lyriq also features a new dual-plane head-up display, with one plane appearing as though it’s floating on the hood, and another that looks like it is projected onto the road.

Audio entertainment comes via a 19-speaker stereo from AKG, which is designed to provide the clarity and quality of a professional recording studio.

Without a doubt, one of the Cadillac Lyriq’s highlight features is Super Cruise, the auto industry’s first truly hands-free semi-autonomous drive system. Designed to take the wheel and provide added comfort on longer journeys, the latest version of Super Cruise offers automated lane changing, which will execute a lane change autonomously after a command is issued by the driver.

The Cadillac Lyriq will offer over 300 miles of range per charge thanks to the latest Ultium battery technology, and will ride on General Motors’ new BEV3 modular electric vehicle platform. Production is expected to take place at the GM Detroit-Hamtramck plant, kicking off in late 2022 for the 2023 model year. Pricing will start under the $60,000 mark.
