Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University were just named the top two colleges in the country, according to Niche.

“Niche’s Best Colleges rankings provide a realistic view of the student experience at a specific school,” the website said. “The platform combines U.S. Department of Education data with user input — reviews from current students, alumni, and parents—in a rigorous analysis of twelve factors including academics, campus, dorm life, professors, and value for the financial investment.”

MIT was noted for its academics, diversity, student life, location and more. It only received lower marks for athletics, safety and campus food. The school’s acceptance rate is 7% with the SAT range being 1500-1570 and the ACT range 34-36.

Harvard was also noted for its academics, diversity, student life, location and more. It only received lower marks for athletics and campus food. The school’s acceptance rate is 5% with the SAT range being 1460-1580 and the ACT range 33-35.

Stanford University, Yale University and Duke University were named third, fourth and fifth, respectively.

The rankings include data from 4,150 colleges nationwide, according to the website. It also ranks colleges by small categories, such as online friendliness, best food and best by state or major.

UMass Amherst came in third for best food, after coming in first for a fifth year in a row in The Princeton Review’s 29th annual college rankings report.

In Massachusetts, following MIT and Harvard University, Tufts University comes in third best for the state. Williams College and Amherst College follow after that.
