Davis County Athletic Director Dave Mason released spectator guidance for fall sports that was updated last Friday.
“The central message to our spectators who attend our events is this: If you do not feel well, do not attend,” stated Mason in a news release provided to The Bloomfield Democrat. “Practice Social Distancing outside of your immediate family as much as possible. Mask up and support our athletes.”
“Mustang fans, it will take all of us to ensure a successful fall sports season. Protecting our students, staff and fans starts with you,” stated the release.
The following are the guidelines spectators will be asked to follow for each of the fall sports.
General guidance for all events at Davis County Schools:
Practice Social Distancing outside of your immediate family members.
Admission will be charged for all events. Activity passes or exact change is recommended.
Seating capacity will be reduced at football and volleyball games (JH and HS).
Pets are prohibted at all school activities.
Sport specific spectator guidance for football:
Masks are highly recommended to be worn by all in attendance and may be required at times.
Students who sit in the student section will be required to wear a mask.
Every other stadium bleacher row will be roped/taped off.
Families may sit or stand together but should socially distance from others.
Kids will be asked to sit/stand with their families and be supervised by parents.
Kids will not be allowed to be on the practice field.
Standing outside the fence, spaced out, is encouraged.
Concessions will be available, both on Locust Street and at the softball field concession.
Restrooms will be located at the softball concession area and porta-potties along Locust Street.
Press box is limited to essential game personnel only (scoreboard operator, timer, announcer, home and visitor coaches (2 max), and media.)
Sport specific spectator guidance for volleyball:
Masks are highly recommended to be worn by all in attendance and may be required at times.
Students who sit in the student section will be required to wear a mask.
The first two rows of bleachers will not be available for seating.
Every other row of bleachers will be roped-taped off.
Families may sit together but should socially distance from others.
Kids will be asked to sit/stand with their families and be supervised by their parents.
Concessions will be available.
Restrooms will be open. Limit of three to four people at a time inside the restrooms.
Middle school matches will be split into two sites (7th grade at MS, 8th grade at MCC.)
Sports specific spectator guidance for cross country:
Masks are highly recommended to be worn by all in attendance and may be required at times.
Families may sit or stand together but should socially distance from others.
Kids will be asked to sit/stand with their families and be supervised by their parents.
Space yourselves out along the trail.
Concessions will be available.
Porta-potties will be on site.
There will not be a traditional awards ceremony.
Admission will be charged per vehicle.
