Wilson graduate Evin Timochenko has been named the winner of the Dr. Richard Kleppinger Award for the 2019-20 season by the Reading-Berks Basketball Association.
Timochenko, who’s enrolled at the Hill School in Pottstown, received a $2,500 scholarship from the RBBA as the outstanding senior boys basketball player in Berks County.
The 6-6 Timochenko was an All-Berks selection last season, when he averaged 10.9 points a game and led the Bulldogs in rebounding and blocked shots. He helped Wilson (28-1) win the Berks Conference and District 3 Class 6A championships.
The RBBA has presented the Kleppinger Award every year since 1972.
The RBBA also presented $1,500 scholarships to seven other Berks graduates who are enrolled in college: Exeter’s Jordan Davis, Alvernia; Gov. Mifflin’s Sydney Payne, Penn State; Schuylkill Valley’s Abigail Rea, Lock Haven; Brandywine Heights’ John Harrison, Alvernia; Exeter’s Alex Javier, Carnegie Mellon; Schuylkill Valley’s Malachi Kauffman, Kutztown University; and Muhlenberg’s Jake Stoudt, Muhlenberg.
