3 Jack Alexander, AT
6-2, 190, Sr., Arroyo Grande, Calif. (Arroyo Grande)

In his own words:
This summer, I worked at Jack’s Valley as a Basic Cadet Training course cadre teaching TCCC (Tactical Combat Casualty Care) as the assistant course commander. I was able to teach all of the class of 2024 valuable lifesaving skills that can be utilized in a deployed environment and everyday life. Following graduation I hope to become a pilot and fly C-17s. During the pandemic, I have learned that the most important thing is to remain connected with friends, family and teammates so we can continue to enact positive change in our society and our health. Even though our world is so ambiguous today, we have to remember that no matter what happens, we are in this together and there is always help to be done for people struggling more than we are.

2019: Played in four games.

2018: Played in 15 games and had two goals and two steals … scored a goal against Loyola and Concordia … WWPA all-academic selection.

2017: Played in 13 games and had two goals … two goals against Claremont Mudd-Scripps.

High School: Lettered three years in water polo and four in swimming … team captain and MVP as a senior … first-team all-league as a senior and second-team as a junior … played for the Arroyo Grande Water Polo Club … on the honor roll all four years.

Personal: Son of John and Kristin Alexander … has one younger sister … major is systems engineering with a human factors focus … member of cadet squadron 38 … attended the USAFA Prep School … silver cord recipient at the Prep School, earning a GPA of greater than 3.5 … long-term goal is to become a fighter pilot … on both the Dean’s and Athletics’ Lists … was the first sergeant in his squadron in 2019, the second highest ranking junior … listens to alternative music … funniest follow on social media is Barstool Sports … if he had a walk-up song, it would be Whole Heart by Gryffin and Bipolar Sunshine … greatest individual moment in sports was getting recruited to play at the Academy … greatest team moment was scoring a goal that was assisted by his best friend in high school … one-word to describe himself is energetic … completed the same elementary, middle and high school as Zach Efron … his high school is in the middle of a broccoli field … credits his parents as having the greatest influence on his sports career … favorite sport other than water polo is swimming … uncle, James Carson, played 10 years in the NHL with several different teams … was the No. 2 overall pick by the L.A. Kings in 1986  … hobbies are snowboarding and surfing … started playing water polo at the age of 11.

From Head Coach Ryan Brown: Jack has had an important role each and every day as he pushes everyone to get better, while also pushing himself to be better each day as well.  He will continue to lead as a senior this year, as someone who comes to compete each and every day.
