Ford Endeavour Sport India launch soon?
Key Highlights
- Ford Endeavour Sport model will sport black alloy wheels and new grille
- It is expected to get dark interior and new upholstery
- Ford Endeavour Sport will rival Toyota Fortuner TRD
Ford India is reportedly planning to launch Endeavour Sport model in India. It is a sportier-looking variant and is already on sale in some international markets like Australia, where it is retailed as Everest Sport. Ford Endeavour Sport was recently spotted testing in India, hinting that it could soon go on sale here. When launched, we this special edition model will take on Toyota Fortuner TRD which was launched last month. This is the first time that the American carmaker will be bringing Endeavour Sport to our shores even though Fortuner TRD has been available since 2018.
(Australia-spec Ford Everest Sport)Ford Endeavour Sport will come sporting a handful of cosmetic tweaks and minor changes inside the cabin. However, it will not get any mechanical changes as compared to the standard model. We expect Exdeavour Sport to come sporting a new all-black grille without chrome slats, black inserts on the front and rear bumper, black roof rails, black alloy wheels, and black caps for the outside rearview mirrors. Ford Endeavour Sport retailed in international markets also gets dark interior with a contrasting panel on the dashboard, black upholstery with contrast stitching, and driver assistance systems like pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, etc. However, the India-spec Endeavour Sport is likely to receive different upholstery option and dark interior.
(Ford Everest Sport interior)The upcoming Ford Endeavour Sport SUV will be powered by the regular model’s engine. It is a 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel unit that generates 168 bhp and a peak torque of 420 Nm. This powerplant is offered in combination with a ten-speed torque converter automatic transmission only, making it the only car in India to get a ten-speed automatic gearbox. Just like Toyota Fortuner TRD, even Endeavour Sport will also be available with 4X2 and 4X4 variants.
