Former Arizona Cardinal and current Arizona Sports co-anchor Ron Wolfley has been named to the West Virginia University Sports Hall of Fame, the school announced Saturday.

Wolfley is one of 11 former Mountaineers to make up the 2020 Hall of Fame class at WVU.

Before starting his Cardinals career, Wolfley played four seasons as fullback at WVU. He has the seventh-most rushing yards in school history with 1,296 yards on 340 carries and 10 touchdowns.

He helped the team go 35-13 total over his four years. During that time the Mountaineers made four bowl games and won three, including the 1981 Peach Bowl.

Wolfley was drafted to the St. Louis Cardinals in the fourth round of the 1985 NFL Draft. He made the NFL Pro Bowl four years in a row from 1986 through 1989, the latter two coming after the team moved to Phoenix.

He spent seven seasons with the Cardinals.

Now, Wolfley is a co-host of Doug & Wolf on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station and is a color commentator alongside Dave Pasch for the Arizona Cardinals radio network.
