GIRARD — South Range is racing to the top o the Northeast 8.

The Raiders scored two touchdowns in every quarter on the way to a 56-28 win over Girard on Friday night.

South Range improves to 2-0 heading into next Friday’s home game against Niles.

Senior quarterback Michael Patrone threw two touchdown passes and ran for another in the first half before leaving the game with an injury.

Dylan Dominguez ran for 131 yards and two second-half touchdowns on 17 carries, while Jacob Gehring and Luke Blasko both had touchdown receptions.

Sophomore Billy Skirpac came in at quarterback and scored on a touchdown run in the third quarter, while Jake Starkey closed out the scoring with a fourth-quarter touchdown run.

South Range senior Harley Novak was 8-for-8 on extra-point kicks.

The Raiders led in first downs (27-15), yards rushing (279-134) and total ards ( 385-359).
