A bit of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia collapsed Sunday morning following a big tanker truck hearth below the freeway, metropolis officers stated.

No accidents had been reported and it was unclear what triggered the automobile hearth. The National Transportation Safety Board said it was investigating the incident in coordination with the Pennsylvania State Police.
The roadway will take months to restore, Shapiro stated. All of the elevated northbound lanes collapsed, whereas the southbound lanes have been closely broken. The same freeway collapse in Atlanta in 2017 took about six weeks to restore.
U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg said the federal authorities would offer any assets it will possibly to assist with the restoration effort and the rebuilding course of.
