Solo musicians and entertainment can now operate in Abu Dhabi bars and restaurants again.
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DTC) has issued a circular to venues across the city concerning the resumption of live entertainment.
In a bid to stop the spread of COVID-19, events and live entertainment were suspended in March this year.
Now, solo musicians and DJs will be allowed to perform in the city, if both the performer and the venue meet the safety requirements outline by the DTC.
The move aims to ‘support the tourism industry and national economic development’, individual entertainment permits may be allowed for musicians in venues and hotels across the city.
Permits for bands, concerts and private parties remain temporarily suspended until further notice.
Licensed entertainers will be required to show a recent negative COVID-19 test result to obtain a permit for individual entertainment.
Venues hosting musicians and DJs will be required to ensure maximum capacity is not exceeded and social distancing and other safety measure are maintained.
All venues will have to be inspected prior to being permitted to host live entertainment by DTC.
