DURHAM, N.C.—The Atlantic Coast Conference has announced the fall schedules for cross country, field hockey, volleyball and men and women’s soccer. The announcement follows the previous release on plans for football and fall Olympic Sports on July 29 and applies with enhanced health and safety protocols of the ACC’s Medical Advisory Report.
The Blue Devils are slated to play 33 conference games across field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball.
The first team to hit the field will be women’s soccer Sept. 10 against Wake Forest in a non-conference match. Head coach Robbie Church and the Blue Devils host Virginia in the first ACC match Sept. 18.
Head coach Pam Bustin‘s field hockey squad opens the 2020 campaign on the road with a two-game series at Syracuse, Sept. 18 and Sept. 20. Head coach John Kerr and the men’s soccer team travel to Kentucky for the first match Sept. 21 and welcome NC State to Koskinen Stadium for the first ACC match, Sept. 26.
The volleyball squad, under the direction of Jolene Nagel, hits the court in Cameron Indoor Stadium Sept. 25 and 26 in a two-match set versus NC State.
ACC cross country action begins for several teams the weekend of Sept. 11-12, and the season will continue through the weekend of Oct. 23-24. The 2020 ACC Championships are planned for Friday, Oct. 30, at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina.
A final Duke cross country slate will be released at a later date.
As previously announced, Duke will begin the fall sports season with no fans in attendance. Games selected for the ACC Network will be announced at a later date.
Despite not being able to physically cheer on the Blue Devils, fans will be able to show their support in Koskinen Stadium, Jack Katz Stadium or Cameron Indoor Stadium this fall with a personalized fan cutout. Having your image placed in the seats will help create a great atmosphere in the stadiums by providing an enhanced visual presence for our student-athletes. If it is determined that fans are allowed in the stadium in a limited capacity, your fan cutout will still be displayed throughout the season and will assist with social distancing measures in the stands.
