Pre-VGGS occasion sees launch of biotech merchandise, change of MOUs with outstanding biotech cos

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday inaugurated the pre-Vibrant Gujarat seminar on ‘Biotechnology: The Path of Innovation and Wellness for Viksit Bharat’, organised as a part of the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.

In his handle, CM Patel highlighted biotechnology because the ‘Technology of Hope’ and underlined Gujarat’s concerted efforts to spice up the sector since 2004.

The occasion witnessed unveiling of cutting-edge biotechnology merchandise and change of MOUs with outstanding biotechnology corporations. Notably, Gujarat is residence to the acclaimed Biotechnology Research and Incubation Center close to Savli, rating among the many prime 5 nationwide and fostering about 100 startups.

Emphasizing the state’s prowess in prescribed drugs and know-how, CM Patel stated that the pharmaceutical trade contributes 40% to 45% to Gujarat’s industrial output, producing revenues exceeding Rs 10 thousand crore. Additionally, Gujarat boasts a considerable workforce in prescribed drugs and biotechnology.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, who was nearly current, lauded Gujarat’s Biotechnology Mission and Park which had been established throughout his tenure. He outlined the Indian biotech trade’s bold targets of $150 billion by 2025 and $300 billion by 2030, citing over 760 corporations and 4,240 startups throughout numerous sectors.
