If you’re looking for your wedding to be totally unique, you have to put yourselves and some serious thought into it. Here are one-off nuptials that are sure to inspire.

Dream destination for the couple, a Big Fat Indian Wedding for the guests. Seems like the perfect match, doesn’t it? Ruchi Patel and Arjun Patel flew all the way to Mexico for their fabulous wedding that was held this May. All the pre-wedding functions and the wedding were spread across Chattanooga in Tennessee, USA, and Cancun, Mexico, with performances by Vidya Vox, Gurdeep Mehndi, and other artistes.

We’re sure the planning and execution must’ve been crazy. “Due to COVID-19, the Mexico Embassy was hardly taking any appointments, and it was getting difficult to get visas. We spent $500 per person and got visas on an urgent basis. Apart from that, procuring Indian vegetarian food was one of the most difficult tasks, but we got some of the best Indian chefs from the US and managed to serve extraordinary Indian dishes such as pani puri, Amritsari chole bhature, khaman dhokla, kachori, laal maas, chicken tikka masala and Maggi, among other dishes.”

Additionally, the wedding ceremony was supposed to take place outdoors on the beach, but the couple had to shift to an indoor venue due to a rainfall forecast. Language was also a barrier, but it was all managed using a translator and body language.
