Amazon desires to ship its company workers again to the workplace.

Three years after the COVID-19 pandemic pressured firms to send workers home, Amazon mentioned Friday it plans to require workers to be in workplace for no less than three days per week, beginning on May 1.

In a company blog post addressing workers, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy mentioned the transfer to in-person work makes it simpler to collaborate, be taught and construct office tradition.

“I’m also optimistic that this shift will provide a boost for the thousands of businesses located around our urban headquarter locations in the Puget Sound, Virginia, Nashville, and the dozens of cities around the world where our employees go to the office,” he wrote.

There will likely be some exceptions to the hybrid work mannequin, Jassy mentioned, reminiscent of for gross sales and buyer assist roles, “but that will be a small minority.”

In October 2021, Amazon adopted a versatile strategy to let managers of particular person groups determine what number of days company workers would work within the workplace.
