The latest controversy between India and Maldives attributable to insulting remarks from a number of Maldivian leaders after PM Narendra Modi’s Lakshadweep journey has put a highlight on Indian vacationer locations together with coastal areas and islands like Andaman & Nicobar. Amid the trending debate, Andaman and Nicobar Islands chief secretary Keshav Chandra has boasted of the Indian Union territory for having nice seashores, journey & enjoyable alternatives and tourism services. He stated that A&NI holds a definite benefit over different island locations within the Indian Ocean Region, reported information company PTI.

In an interplay with PTI, Chandra highlighted the numerous steps being taken by the administration to woo vacationers and match world-class requirements.

“The A&NI has pristine natural beauty, picturesque islands with beautiful sandy beaches offering a wide range of activities like sunbathing, snorkeling, swimming, game fishing, sunset/sunrise sighting, bird watching, trekking, kayaking etc,” stated Chandra.

“The administration has taken various initiatives towards promotion of tourism… like development of a five-star property at Megapode in Port Blair in PPP mode, leasing out land at Radha Nagar Beach in Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island),” he added.

Chandra additional revealed that the administration was in contact with airline corporations to make sure inexpensive costs of tickets for vacationers. The chief secretary disclosed that vacationers can take pleasure in witnessing bio-luminescence within the sea, as seashores are being opened throughout late night time hours.

“Beaches are now being opened during late night hours for tourists to enjoy the heavenly sight of the landscape as well as the bio-luminescence. Efforts are being made to reach out to more airline operators that will lead to competitive and affordable pricing of tickets for tourists,” the chief secretary stated.

“The UT administration is also exploring possibilities to have international connectivity from Port Blair to southeast Asian countries where the tourism sector is a significant part of the economy. This may enable cheaper air connectivity to these southeast Asian countries owing to their proximity to Port Blair,” he added.
