Through September: Women of Resilience Exhibition: Coburn Art Gallery at Ashland University, 331 College Ave., Ashland. Aug. 31-Oct. 1. The Women of Resilience exhibition is part of local and national celebrations of the centennial of women’s suffrage. Twenty-five artists will explore a variety of topics in traditional and non-traditional media. The free exhibition starts Aug. 31 and runs through Oct 1.

Sept. 12: County Line Historical Society Museum, 281 N. Market St., Shreve (state Route 226), open house, noon-3 p.m. Parking at Shreve Auto Repair, Farmer’s National Bank and downtown parking lots. Handicap parking at rear of museum, entering alley off East Robinson Street. Adults $2,12 and younger free.
Sept. 12: Beers in the Backyard, A Night with Nature, The Wilderness Center, Wilmot. Virtual beer tasting and fundraiser, 7 p.m. Attendees will explore the wild of their own backyard while enjoying pizza and a beer tasting for two from Lockport Brewery. $65 fee will support The Wilderness Center and local business, and will include an 8” take-and-bake pizza and four 8 oz. tasting beers to be picked up at Lockport Brewery in Bolivar beginning on Sept. 11. Two decadent, locally-produced Coblentz chocolates will add a sweet finish to the evening. Program by Education Manager Lynda Price will offer fun facts about the nature all around us and stories of the wildlife that can be found in our backyards. Attendees will then participate in a fun and light-hearted backyard quiz to determine what kind of nature-lover they are. All attendees will then have a chance to win a raffle prize from the TWC Nature Store. Register online at wildernesscenter.org/a-night-in-with-nature. Registrants must provide an email address so TWC can send the link to join this online get together. Due to the alcohol sale and applicable laws, funds will be collected through Lockport Brewery and donated to The Wilderness Center. Registrants must be 21 or older to participate (ID will be required).
Sept. 12-17: The Wayne County Fair at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Wooster will be a junior fair only due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will include exhibitions, shows and events that are for youth. It will have more than 2,400 animals and still projects on display, 4-H/FFA club/chapter booths, a limited number of approximately 20 food vendors, livestock shows and an in-person livestock auction. The 2020 Wayne County Junior Fair is open to the public. Everyone attending including youth exhibitors, parents, spectators, volunteers and food vendors must comply with current COVID protocols such as maintaining social distancing, frequent hand washing, completing a daily self health-check and wearing masks while indoors.
