According to the latest reports, Khan, through his legal team, has filed his application for bail and the hearing is slated to take place sometime in the coming week.
Early Saturday evening, it was reported that Shah Rukh Khan’s driver was summoned by the NCB for questioning. The agency wants to trace details of Aryan’s whereabouts and even investigate if the driver was sent to collect drugs.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate R.M. Nerlikar rejected the bail applications of Aryan, Arbaaz Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha, on grounds of “maintainability”, upholding the contentions of the Narcotics Control Bureau‘s (NCB) legal team.
Shortly after the verdict, lawyers of the accused told the media that they plan to apply to the Sessions Court for bail on Monday. The NCB, on the other hand, has indicated that it would oppose their bail pleas again.
The developments came a day after all the accused were sent to judicial custody, and shifted to the Arthur Road prison for their 14-day custody.
The two women accused – Munmun Dhamecha and Nupur Sarika – were shunted to the Byculla Women’s Jail.
It was reported that the accused would not get any special treatment inside the prison.
