Local actors in virtual ‘Pandemic Plays’
The Intermittent Theatre Company, created as a virtual alternative to community theater by Marlboro English teacher Jake Lewis, will offer “The Pandemic Plays,” an online program of three short plays that offer comic and serious looks at our current times. One, “The Coronavirus Contest,” was written by Bob Moore, who performed in “Crude, the Musical” last year at Cape Cod Theatre Company/Harwich Junior Theatre. He stars in the 15-minute comedy with Cape actors Karen McPherson, Janet Geist Moore and Glenn Starner-Tate, and the four (with masks on) filmed their segment last week via iPhones at Cotuit Center for the Arts after virtual rehearsals. With theaters closed, this type of show is “a way we can keep each other busy and do something creative,” Moore says. The other two plays: “Zoom Dating,” by Lewis; and “No Right Time,” by Jackie Martin.
