US President Joe Biden on Friday advised reporters on the White House that he expects Iran to assault Israel “ahead of later”. “I don’t want to get into secure information but my expectation is sooner than later,” Biden was quoted as saying by CNN. The US has been on high alert for a significant Iranian retaliatory attack on Israel in recent days as fears grow of a wider regional war.
There remains a “real,” “credible” and “viable” menace of Iran launching strikes, the White House stated Friday, following Israel’s assault on an Iranian diplomatic compound in Syria final week that killed three Iranian generals.
The Israeli military stated “roughly 40 launches had been recognized crossing from Lebanese territory, a few of which had been intercepted”.
“No injuries were reported,” it stated, including that it had earlier intercepted two Hezbollah assault drones that had crossed from Lebanon.
Lebanon and Israel are technically at warfare because the creation of the latter and have abided by the overall ceasefire settlement because the 2006 Lebanon warfare.
