US lawmaker Grace Meng launched a laws in US Congress to declare Diwali a federal vacation within the US.
The Diwali Day Act would make Diwali the US’ twelfth federally recognised vacation.

Recently, the Pennsylvania State Senate handed a invoice to recognise Diwali as an official vacation, Nikil Saval, a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate introduced in a tweet.
Taking to his official Twitter deal with, Nikil Saval expressed gratitude to Greg Rothman for giving him the chance to affix him in introducing the invoice.
He tweeted, “The Senate voted unanimously to recognize Diwali as an official holiday! To all Pennsylvanians who celebrate this festival of light and connection: you are seen, you are welcome, you matter. Thank you, Greg Rothman, for the opportunity to join you in introducing this bill.”
