While we wait for the release of BLACKPINK’s next track, band member Jisoo is gearing up for a new acting stint. The K-pop idol has reportedly signed up for an upcoming JTBC-backed drama Snowdrop. Jisoo is set to play a lead role in the series.
BLINKs, if you have seen Jisoo in a TV show just last year with an appearance in Arthdal Chronicles, what do you think about her comeback to dramas as a lead character? An update on MyDaily (via Soompi) promises exactly that. Jisoo’s next as an actress is a JTBC project that is tentatively titled Snowdrop. The idol’s management YG Entertainment confirmed the news as well.
Here’s what we know so far: Snowdrop is in the capable hands of director Ho Hyun Tak best known for helming SKY Castle (2018-19) and writer Yoo Hyun Mi who served as screenwriter on the show. While Jisoo’s casting has been confirmed, we don’t know who else is in the drama just yet. There were speculations, however, that Kingdom’s Kim Hye-Joon will be joining the cast but there is no announcement yet. Currently, there is no known information about the release date of Snowdrop.
Jisoo was first seen in a TV drama when she came on board for 2015 Kdrama The Producers after that Arthdal Chronicles (2019) happened and now, we’ll soon see her in a full-fledged lead role. That’s a hell of a comeback. It will be exciting to see more of her acting chops. Speaking of comebacks, BLACKPINK is making headway with their latest studio album. After the release of the title track ‘How You Like That’, the band all set to release the next track which is making waves not just in K-pop but global pop. It was earlier revealed (after much teasing) that their secret collab artist is Selena Gomez. So Selpink is officially a thing and the track releases next Friday (August 28). Enjoy this little teaser poster till then:
