MUMBAI: After 4 ladies, aged seven and eight, complained that he had sexually assaulted them, a 23-year-old sports activities trainer hooked up to a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation faculty was arrested on Tuesday.

Prior to his arrest, the trainer was overwhelmed up by the mother and father of a few of the college students and brought to Vikhroli police station.

Based on the grievance by the mother and father, the Vikhroli police registered an offence in opposition to the trainer and arrested him.

The police mentioned that the trainer, a resident of Thane, had been working within the civic faculty for the final one-and-a-half months.

In the previous one week, the trainer had been allegedly sexually assaulting the ladies by touching them inappropriately.

The incident got here to mild after he allegedly misbehaved with a seven-year-old-girl on Monday after which she knowledgeable her mother and father, mentioned police officer.

The mother and father of the ladies gathered on the faculty on Tuesday and confronted the trainer. When he was unable to reply to their questions, they beat him up and handed him over to the police, added the police officer.

The police mentioned the accused has been booked for rape and unnatural offence, and beneath related sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

“The accused has sexually assaulted four girls in the civic school. He has been arrested based on the statement of the victims and their parents,” mentioned Purushottam Karad, deputy commissioner of police.

“It has come to our notice that the accused had misbehaved with girls in the past during his stint with another school. We are verifying it and if it is found to be true, then further legal action will be taken against him,” added Karad. The accused might be produced in courtroom on Wednesday.
