Earlier this month, we spied the Bronco Raptor prototype out testing for the very first time, merely a day after Ford Authority exclusively reported some details about the forthcoming Ford Bronco performance variant. Now the Bronco Raptor prototype, which may also wind up being called the Bronco Warthog, has been caught testing once again, and our spies have given us a better view of the suspension technology that lies beneath it.

The new spy shots clearly show what appears to be orange Fox Live Valve shocks peeking out from black outer sleeves. We were recently treated to some airborne teaser shots of the high-speed Bronco Raptor or Bronco Warthog from Ford, and the Raptor-influenced suspension spotted on this prototype is just further proof of its mechanical makeup.

There is some camouflage present on the rear suspension inside the wheel well, but one of these shots shows another bright, metallic orange-colored component peeking through. It’s impossible to see the exact suspension configuration, but it certainly suggests that the Fox Live Valve technology is in use in both the front and rear portions of the suspension.

Fox’s Live Wire technology was recently introduced to the Ford F-150 Raptor for the 2019 model year, when it was upgraded to the company’s 3.0 Internal Bypass shocks. Those cutting-edge units are also identifiable by their bright metallic orange finish.

This new detail adds to what we already know about the Bronco Raptor/Warthog, which will feature revised front and rear fascias, unique bumper treatments, a single-exit, dual-tip exhaust located on the driver’s side, higher ground clearance and a wider stance than other Bronco variants, more pronounced fenders, and wheels that bear a resemblance to those used on the current F-150 Raptor, wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires.

The Bronco Raptor will be powered by Ford’s twin-turbocharged 3.0L EcoBoost V6 mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission. No manual is currently planned. A hybrid might be offered later on in the model’s lifecycle.
