CACI International announced Aug. 13 it has bought Ascent Vision Technologies, LLC, a provider of technology and solutions supporting multidomain intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, unmanned aircraft systems, air defense and counter-unmanned aircraft system operations.

AVT provides low size, infrared imaging systems designed for airborne, ground and maritime platforms to deliver effective ISR and target acquisition capabilities for both day and night operations.

AVT’s technology is used in the company’s X-MADIS system, a program that detects, locates, tracks, identifies and defeats UAS threats. The software integrates radar, gyro-stabilized optical sensors and nonkinetic electronic warfare capabilities to provide a comprehensive solution to combatting hostile UAS and close-range airborne threats.

X-MADIS can also provide ground and surface surveillance, counter-IED, hostile fire location and integrated kinetic capabilities. MADIS systems use AVT’s gyro-stabilized optics, c-UAS Software Suite and Graphical User Interface.

Combining AVT’s X-MADIS technologies with CACI’s signals intelligence, electronic warfare and CORIAN capabilities will deliver continued differentiation to customers. The open-source, system-of-systems architecture provides interoperability and speeds new capabilities to customers in the defense and security markets.

“The combination of CACI and AVT brings unique advantages to our defense and national security customers with critical ISR and c-UAS missions,” said John Mengucci, CACI president and CEO. “The synergies between AVT and CACI’s offerings establish unparalleled technologies and capabilities in this growing area of ISR and c-UAS within CACI’s business.”
