Carlton is exploring the possibility of bringing in West Coast tall Jarrod Brander during the trade period.
The 195cm Brander will meet with the Blues this week in the hope of finding a new home, with the Eagles yet to offer him a contract for 2022.
Last week, Sam Petrevski-Seton requested a trade to West Coast and, if Carlton commits to Brander, both players could be involved in the same trade.

West Coast has selections 10, 29, 35 and 49 in November’s draft, while Carlton is likely to use Pick 6 on Adam Cerra and also has Pick 25 but no third rounder.
Foxfooty.com.au understands the Blues have identified the wing position as an area of concern – Brander spent 83 per cent of game time on the wing in 2021.
In 2020 he played 64 per cent on the wing, but was mainly used as a forward before then.
According to Champion Data, Matthew Cottrell and Jack Newnes were Carlton’s two main wingers this year, although Will Setterfield and the out of contract Lochie O’Brien also spent time there.
Brander, 22, played 11 senior matches for the Eagles in 2021. He has notched 22 for his career since debuting in 2018.
Originally from Mildura, he was selected with Pick 13 in the 2017 National Draft and was originally touted as a key forward prospect.
Geelong has expressed interest in Brander in the past too.
As reported by foxfooty.com.au on Saturday, West Coast will be without its football boss Craig Vozzo for the critical trade period and draft period.
Long-time recruiter and newly appointed list boss Rohan O’Brien will be in charge, with help from CEO Trevor Nisbett.
Like most clubs, the Eagles are short on cash and have locked in most of their big names, leaving them with little flexibility.
Giving up Brander for Petrevski-Seton – with the option of draft picks swapping hands too – would allow both clubs to get a player they want in exchange for a player they are not too worried to lose.
The trade period begins on Monday October 4.
