Carolyn June Darling Hallberg, 84, of Bemus- Ellery Road, Bemus Point, N.Y., passed away on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020 at UPMC Hamot, Erie, Pa., following a brief illness.
Carolyn was born on May 14, 1936, in Youngsville, Pa., the daughter of the late William and Myrtle Sullivan Darling.
Carolyn graduated from Youngsville High School in 1954. Carolyn and her husband attended church at the Ellery Baptist Church. She worked over 30 years as a cook/manager for Bemus Point Central School Dis-trict and as a head cook for Meals on Wheels.
Carolyn loved watching her children and grandchil-dren play sports at Maple Grove. She spent many hours knitting and crochet-ing.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 62 years of marriage, Elmer Louie Hallberg, whom she married on May 3, 1958; three children: Gary (Jan) Hallberg, Greg Hallberg (fiancee, Susann DelBalso) and Becky (Denny) Carlson of all Bemus Point, N.Y.; five grandchildren: Jared Hallberg, Zach Hallberg, Alexis Hallberg, Nicholas Carlson and Amanda Carlso one great-grandchild: Lucas Carlson; two brothers: Donald Darling and William (Patti) Darling Jr.; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Myrna Haight; two brothers: Wayne and Ronald Darling; and her half-sister: Eleanor Satterlee.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial contributions to Ellery Baptist Church, 4487 Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point, NY 14712 or to Ellery Volunteer Fire Department, 4400 Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point, NY 14712.
A private graveside service will be in Fluvanna Cemetery. Pastor Doug Kibbe, pastor of Church on the Rock, will officiate.
