New Delhi, Apr 28 (UNI) Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday arrested an Assistant Engineer working in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi for alleged bribery.

A case was registered in opposition to an AE (Civil), Engineering Service Department of AIIMS on the allegations of demanding bribe of Rs 20 thousand from the complainant (a contractor) to approve a further merchandise and make entries within the Measurement Book for the upkeep work being executed by him, the probe company mentioned in a press release.

CBI laid a lure and caught the accused pink handed whereas allegedly accepting the bribe of Rs.20 thousand from the complainant. Searches have been performed on the premises of the accused, it mentioned.

The accused was produced earlier than the courtroom in Delhi and remanded to Judicial Custody until May 11.
