CHENNAI: Velammal main school in Mogappair organised its 35th virtual sports fiesta – Dimension 2020 on Saturday. It was aired on their YouTube channel — Velammal Nexus.
The sports day was dedicated to cricketer M S Dhoni.
The hour-long programme included music, dance, and other activities. Cricketer Dinesh Karthik presided over the event. The event was declared open and started off with flag hoisting, a parade with band troop and lighting of the Olympic torch.
Students also participated in an array of challenges, including baby Olympics, push-ups, planks, wall-sit, snow bowling and many more — all confined to their homes.
An oath was administered to the students to participate in sports with a sportsman spirit. The sports day activities and challenges were designed to abide by all social distancing rules.
