CHICAGO (CBS) – While most celebrated the brand new 12 months with meals and confetti, some mother and father celebrated with a brand new bundle of pleasure. 

On Monday, UChicago Medicine, Advocate Health Care, and Northwestern Medicine introduced the primary infants of 2024. 

Parents Emily and Wes Ortman of Wheeling welcomed their first child, named Ocean, on Jan. 1 at 3:18 a.m. at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. She weighed 5 kilos, 2.4 ounces, and measured 18.75 inches.

Parents Lindsey and Jordan Platts, of Hinsdale weren’t far behind. They welcomed a child boy at 4:44 at UChicago Medicine CreationHealth in Hinsdale. He weighed six kilos, 5 ounces, and measured 19.5 inches in size. He can be welcomed residence by his 2-year-old brother, Lane. 

The hospital says the mother and father are nonetheless deciding on the proper identify. 

Kiara and Robert Rhodes of Crete welcomed child Rue at 5:05 a.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center. She weighed 4 kilos, 9 ounces, and measured 17 inches lengthy. 

Rue is the primary lady of the household – becoming a member of her two older brothers, Robert and Kitvi. 

Not lengthy after that, at 5:28 a.m., Andrea Cladis-Hodge and Matthew Hodge celebrated the delivery of their third little one, Pearl Noelle Hodge. 

Pearle was born at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva. She weighed in at 7 kilos, 5 ounces, and measured 19.5 inches lengthy. 

Andrea and Matthew’s first little one was born on New Year’s Eve. Pearle’s maternal grandfather, Dr. Peter Cladis, has been a doctor at Delnor Hospital for 40 years.
