Two new sports activities fields are coming quickly to South Huntsville. The City accepted a $2.4 million contract with Chorba Contracting Corporation to construct amenities for the Hays Farm Sports Park.

The contract contains two regulation-size, multipurpose fields appropriate for soccer, lacrosse and different actions. The lighted turf fields shall be supported by a restroom pavilion, 120 lighted parking areas, perimeter fencing, landscaping and irrigation.

The nine-acre sports activities park shall be positioned on the west facet of Haysland Road throughout from Grissom High School. It is designed to tie into the greenway working alongside Haysland and also will be accessible by way of a tunnel from the japanese facet of the street. The park is predicted to open in spring 2024.
