For the first time, Clarkson University will host a Technology Showcase and Competition to highlight some of its most exciting commercialization projects. This event will be held in Central New York, at the Turning Stone Casino and Resort, in order to showcase the outstanding innovations being created by Clarkson faculty and alumni to a broader audience
Clarkson’s Inaugural Technology Showcase and Competition will feature 11 teams presenting projects that have collectively raised more than $9.5 million in funding to date. These 11 companies, comprised of seven faculty teams and four teams of recent alumni, hold 14 patents on the various technologies that will be presented, and cover a broad spectrum of industries including renewable energy, sustainable construction materials, air and water quality, medical devices, innovative personal protective equipment and performance nutrition.
“This event is a major opportunity for companies created at Clarkson to display their innovative products and designs to a wider, more diverse audience,” said Ashley Sweeney, associate director of Clarkson’s Shipley Center for Innovation. “Holding this event at a centrally located venue like Turning Stone allows these projects to be introduced to an expanded group of potential consumers, investors, or future stakeholders.”
Clarkson’s Technology Showcase and Competition will be held at Turning Stone Resort and Casino on Nov. 9 from 4 to 7 p.m., immediately following the New York State Innovation Summit’s FuzeHub Commercialization Competition. Faculty and alumni pitches will take place from 4 to 6:00 p.m. followed by a networking session from 6:00 to 7:00, during which time each project will provide a table for continued Q&A. Awards will be presented at 7 p.m.
This event is free and open to the public. Those interested should RSVP for the Technology Showcase and Competition by clicking here. Clarkson has reserved a block of rooms at the Turning Stone Resort for Tuesday night. To make reservations, call 1-800-771-7711.
