COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia Boone County Public Health and Human Services is set to host a COVID-19 vaccine clinic Saturday, at their office on 1005 W. Worley St.

Individuals can receive any dose in a series, including boosters. Anyone aged 6 months and older is eligible for Pfizer and anyone aged 18 and older is eligible for Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson.

People will also need to book an appointment with Health and Human Services ahead of getting a shot Saturday, however, i.d. and health insurance will not required.

The department will also extend its hours for COVID-19 vaccinations on Wednesdays in August, from 3:30pm to 6 p.m.

This comes as Boone County remains in the medium or “yellow” community level for COVID-19.

The state however, still remain in the red for new cases. According to the latest data, Missouri has reported over 12 thousand new cases.

The number is down 13% percent however, from the previous week. 

836 new hospital admissions were also reported in the latest data, which was up 2% two percent from the previous week.

Deaths also took a big jump, increasing by 44% with 78 new deaths reported. 

Tuesday, MU Health is scheduled supply limited amounts of the  Novavax Covid-19 vaccine by appointment only, to those 18 years and older who have not already received a vaccine.

A special vaccination clinic will be held from 5:15pm to 7:15 P.M. at South Providence Medical Park.
