Kolkata: The rift within the INDIA bloc in West Bengal seemed to be widening on Friday, because the Congress demanded that President’s rule be imposed within the Mamata Banerjee-ruled state. “Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury is an agent of BJP,” TMC chief Kunal Ghosh stated.
On Thursday evening, an Enforcement Directorate (ED) group was attacked and its automobiles broken in Sandeshkhali village of North 24 Parganas in West Bengal, when it tried to raid the residence of block-level leaders of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC).
West Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar wrote to union dwelling minister Amit Shah demanding an NIA probe into the incident.
TMC MP Santanu Sen it was the federal company that provoked the locals.
“The officers of the Central investigation agency surrounded by the Central forces provoked the local people that’s why there were counter reactions continuously,” he stated.
On Thursday, Adhir Ranjan Choudhury claimed the TMC is prepared to concede solely two seats in Bengal for this 12 months’s Lok Sabha polls.
“The real intention of Mamata Banerjee is out. They are saying that they (TMC) will give two seats (to Congress) in West Bengal. Those seats already have Congress MPs. What new are they giving us? .We won these two seats by defeating Mamata Banerjee and the BJP. What favour are they doing to us?” he stated.
“Who will trust her (Mamata Banerjee)? It is Mamata who needs Congress to win… Congress can fight and is capable of winning more seats on its own. We will show. We don’t need to keep these two seats on Mamata’s pity,” he added.
TMC stated Chowdhury was behaving like a BJP individual.
“In 2021 Assembly polls, TMC fought the battle alone but Adhir Chowdhury’s party fought in alliance with CPM and got zero. What is he talking about? TMC doesn’t need anybody to fight the BJP, but for the sake of INDIA alliance, our leader Mamata Banerjee is fully cooperating. But, Congress is playing a double-faced game,” he stated yesterday.
Banerjee’s TMC received 22 seats; the BJP received 18 seats.
Mamata Banerjee had lately instructed her occasion’s employees that solely TMC might defeat the BJP in Bengal.
