Six bands will take part in the West of Scotland Virtual Entertainment Contest on Sunday evening.
There will be further on-line brass band entertainment to enjoy today (Sunday 30th August) when six bands compete in the West of Scotland virtual entertainment contest which will be broadcast live on the Scottish Brass Band Association YouTube channel and FaceBook Live at 6.00pm (UK time).
March and film music
As well as each band performing a march and a piece of film music, listeners can also enjoy the debut performance of the West of Scotland virtual band playing ‘All that Jazz’ and ‘Singing in the Rain’ to open and close the event.
Talking about the initiative, organiser Lesley Crumlish said: “Although only 15 players signed up from across the west, it showed that they could play on their own and also stand together as one to prevent COVID-19 from spoiling all the fun.
This event is dedicated to those who have lost loved ones during this pandemic, no matter what the cause. It is never an easy time during a loss but just now it is extremely hard and stressful on everyone.
Our hope is that this event will give a little light relief from reality for everyone.”
