Mark DiFilippo, currently the Erie County Interscholastic Conference executive director, has been hired to replace Timm Slade at the Section VI office.
Section VI conducted a state-wide search for Slade’s successor, after his decision to retire. The Iroquois product served as the executive director of the Section for 11 years. DiFilippo is the former athletic director at Canisius High School, Niagara Wheatfield and Williamsville East. He previously has served as the treasurer for the section and as the boys ice hockey chairman for many years.
“Mark is a proven leader,”President Brett Banker said. “He brings experience, passion and a familiarity with Section VI. He has led the sport of boys hockey and has organized six state tournament events at LECOM-Harbor Center. His organizational skills are undeniable.”
DiFilippo is expected to start in his new position in early November.
