Imbruglia completed the pre-race leisure off by singing the nationwide anthem.

Goodrem obtained the showcase with a bang, however loads of followers felt she was not the precise option to get the group excited for the massive race.

Another wrote: “This is so horrible. First Delta putting everyone to sleep and now some guy in his 60’s thinking he is some kind of sex symbol rock god singing songs that had some vague popularity 40 years ago”.

Goodrem mentioned from the beginning she was up for the problem.

“I haven’t sung in the Mounting Yard at Flemington on Cup Day since 2007,” Goodrem mentioned earlier this week.

“I’m so looking forward to taking to the stage alongside friends, Jon Stevens and Natalie Imbruglia.

“This is my fourth year as a Melbourne Cup Carnival ambassador.

“What I love most about the event is that it truly is an Australian moment, a part of our social fabric, that’s watched and loved globally.”

Imbruglia is making her first look on the Melbourne Cup and has by no means beforehand sung the nationwide anthem publicly.

“This will be the first time I have ever performed the Australian National Anthem in my career and it is an honour,” she mentioned.

“I’m looking forward to singing on Melbourne Cup Day, not only to a packed crowd at Flemington, but to share this moment with the millions of people tuning in around the world.”

VRC Chairman Neil Wilson mentioned the membership was thrilled to welcome the enduring trio.

“Delta, Jon and Natalie are all much loved Australian performers and we’re looking forward to welcoming Delta and Jon back to the track and having Natalie perform as part of the pre-race entertainment for the first time,” he mentioned.
