Pro-Khalistani chief and designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has threatened to disrupt the 2023 Cricket World Cup in India, in response to media reviews.
In a video circulating on social media, Pannun purportedly threatens to avenge the dying of pro-Khalistani chief Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was lately killed by unidentified assailants in Canada. With dramatic music and low-cost graphics depicting a grenade assault on the Narendra Modi stadium, Pannun requires stopping the 2023 Cricket World Cup till “Sikhs’ right of self-determination is met.”

The purported video of Pannun surfaced days after rumours about his dying.
Pannun is likely one of the founders of the US-based separatist group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and has been actively lobbying for a separate state for Sikhs, which they name Khalistan, within the US, Canada and the UK.
In July 2020, Pannun was designated a terrorist by the Union residence ministry and two months later, the federal government ordered the attachment of his properties underneath Section 51A of the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Pannun has been operating a marketing campaign towards India and motivating Sikh kids in his residence state Punjab to hitch militancy.
Originally from Punjab’s Khankot, Pannun labored as an lawyer, regulation and authorized Advisor of the SFJ and ran the so-called ‘Referendum 2020’ marketing campaign for a separate Sikh state. He labored carefully with UK-based Khalistani terrorist Paramjit Singh Pamma and slain pro-Khalistani chief Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was lately killed by unidentified assailants in Vancouver.
